Imagine the sounds that echoed through the valleys of ancient Mexico. Now you can experience them live. We're thrilled to present Carlos Bastón Coyocohualli, a distinguished multi-instrumentalist musician, flutist, and percussionist who specializes in pre-Hispanic instrumentation and sound. His compositional work spans film, theater, and documentary, with notable credits including The Legend of La Nahuala and Neri Vela: Space Without Limits. Through Teotihuacan, Valley of the Gods, he has represented Mexico internationally across the United States, Colombia, and Latin America, bringing ancestral Mexican musical traditions to global audiences.
Beyond performance and composition, Carlos is deeply committed to inclusion through the arts. He develops musical ensembles with people with disabilities, using pre-Hispanic instruments as a central expressive element in his inclusive work. This dedication to accessibility and representation earned him the International Art and Inclusion Award in 2024.
